3 Things That Can Help Manage Schizophrenia Symptoms
Three weeks ago, we wrote to the public about a few things
that can help people living with Bipolar Disorder. If you have not read it, you
can check it out here. We’ve gotten positive responses from the community, and
we want to keep the wheel moving and help out all of our mental health
This week, we’ve put together a list of things that we
thought would be helpful to people diagnosed with Schizophrenia. If you don’t
know what Schizophrenia is, NIMH has it defined as “a chronic and severe mental disorder that affects how a
person thinks, feels, and behaves.” While this list
isn’t as comprehensive as our last article, it certainly contains very helpful
1.) 1.) Take Your Prescribed Medication.
prescribed medication regularly is not only extremely helpful, it is an absolute
necessity. The medication helps regulate the chemical imbalances in your brain,
and helps you manage your symptoms.
2.) Stay Away From Illegal Drugs.
There is a strong
correlation between taking illegal drugs, specifically marijuana, and
developing Schizophrenia-like symptoms (if you would like a comprehensive list
of scientific data, leave a comment below!). Simply put, if you are at risk for
being diagnosed with Schizophrenia, taking illegal drugs can greatly increase

In a recent study found here,
researchers found that aerobic exercise can reduce symptoms of Schizophrenia.
Getting exercise can help with all sorts of mental illnesses, as it helps the
body and the mind.
