Teens and Bipolar Disorder

Teenagers have a lot on their plate; changing bodies, homework, relationships, etc. Teens can start to pull away from parents and siblings. 1 in 8 teenagers develop depression.  Watch for symptoms such as appetite changes, different sleep patterns, lower energy levels, and irritability. Many teens go through mild changes that does not turn into depression. If you see big changes from your teen's usual behavior, you need to take it seriously. Your teen may have bipolar disorder, depression or some other disorder.
